Dr. Susan Paul
Biography
Susan C. Paul's goal is to maintain an environment where students are engaged in learning and educators provide relevant and rigorous opportunities for students to apply knowledge.
Dr. Paul received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Florida State University. She started her teaching career in 1986 at Cocoa Beach High School.
Her first assignment in DoDEA was Sigonella, Italy in 1988 where she was the Information Specialist and coach for the girls’ volleyball and track teams. In 1992, she moved with her Marine Corps spouse to Okinawa, Japan and worked at the Area Office as an Instructional Systems Specialist. Dr. Paul continued to advance her education, while making numerous moves to California, Virginia and Missouri. When her husband deployed to Iraq, she rejoined DoDEA. Dr. Paul’s assignments have taken her to Kadena Middle School in Okinawa, Joan K. Mendel in Yokota, Japan and back to Okinawa at Amelia Earhart Intermediate, Zukeran Elementary, Kadena High School, and Lester Middle School. She has worked as an elementary and middle school classroom teacher and served as a Library Information Specialist in elementary, middle and high school.
Dr. Paul earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2010. In 2011, she was assigned as an Assistant Principal at Kadena High School.
Dr. Paul and her husband of 30+ years have three children who graduated from DoDEA schools. Her daughter married a Marine and is stationed at Camp Lejeune. Her oldest son graduated from University of North Dakota and her youngest graduated from Auburn University.
Dr. Paul enjoys reading, traveling, skiing and spending time with family and friends.
