Mr. Denny DePriest

Biography

Mr. DePriest began his teaching career in 2007 at Mannheim High School where he taught physical education and health.  In 2007, he taught at Kaiserslautern High School until 2016.  While at Kaiserslautern High School, Mr. DePriest taught physical education, health, and anatomy and physiology.  He served as an athletic director and was the head coach for cross country, track and field, and an assistant coach for boys’ basketball.  

In 2016, Mr. DePriest transitioned to his role as an Instructional Systems Specialist in health and physical education for the Europe region.  Mr. DePriest is a veteran of the United States Army where he served at Fort Liberty for most of his career in the 82nd Airborne Division.  After medically retiring, Mr. DePriest went on to coach at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. He was the U23 and National Team Coach for USA Triathlon where he was named the USA Triathlon Development Coach of the Year in 2004.  He maintains his Certified Athletic Administrator credential through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.  Having a passion for strength and conditioning, he also maintains his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  Mr. DePriest is also a contributing author to the book, Developing Endurance which is part of the NSCA Performance Series published by Human Kinetics.  

Mr. DePriest earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  He obtained his teacher licensure in North Carolina before earning his Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, from the University of Phoenix.  He later earned his second Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

Mr. DePriest feels honored and privileged to serve the military connected students that DoDEA supports.  He is dedicated to supporting our military communities to ensure the best educational experience for all students.  He is a novice guitarist and sport enthusiast.  He has completed over 150 endurance events, including three Ironman triathlons: Brazil, Canada, and Florida.
